What is the M.S.Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation and its mission?
Established in 1992, M.S. Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation (Chellamuthu Trust) is a Madurai-based nonprofit committed to providing mental health services to marginalized groups, including the homeless, children, and adults with mental disabilities. We prioritize accessible and affordable mental healthcare, offering comprehensive rehabilitation and vocational training.

Our primary initiative ensures basic mental health services for economically disadvantaged individuals. Operating six residential rehabilitation centres, we support 550 homeless individuals with mental illness by providing essential services like food, accommodation, medication, treatment, and vocational training, all free of charge. Chellamuthu Trust plays a vital role in bringing mental health services to vulnerable populations in southern Tamil Nadu, aiming to make care accessible and empower individuals with disabilities to lead fulfilling lives.

Is Chellamuthu Trust a registered nonprofit?

Chellamuthu Trust is a legally registered non-profit organization under the Indian registration act (Registration Number – 400/92). This nonprofit is registered under section 12 (a) and 80G of India's Income Tax Act, 1961. This means you can deduct 50% of the donation you made through your tax return.
